Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 24, 2026

Last Updated: May 24, 2026

1. Introduction

MI Division ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Car Inclinometer Tilt Meter mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

a. Location Data

The App accesses your device's location services to provide core functionality, including GPS speed, altitude, bearing, coordinate display, satellite information, and ambient temperature lookup. Location data is processed locally on your device to power the inclinometer, compass, and telemetry features. For the temperature display, your latitude and longitude are transmitted to a third-party weather service (Open-Meteo) solely to retrieve the current temperature at your approximate location. We do not store or transmit your location to our own servers, and we do not retain location data after it is used to fetch the temperature.

b. Device Sensor Data

The App reads data from your device's motion sensors (rotation vector sensor, including the underlying accelerometer and gyroscope) to compute pitch, roll, and compass heading for the inclinometer and tilt meter features. Sensor data is processed locally on your device in real time and is never transmitted off the device.

3. Third-Party Services

The App integrates third-party services that may independently collect data in accordance with their own privacy policies. These services include:

  • Open-Meteo — for retrieving current temperature at your location. Your latitude and longitude are sent to Open-Meteo to provide the temperature reading shown in the telemetry bar. Requests are throttled and the coordinates are not persisted by the App. Open-Meteo Terms & Privacy
  • Google Play Services Location — for providing precise GPS coordinates, speed, altitude, bearing, and satellite information used in the inclinometer and compass features. Location data is processed on your device. Google Privacy Policy
  • Google Play Billing — for in-app subscription purchases. Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Google Play. Google Privacy Policy

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third-party services. We are not responsible for the data practices of third-party services.

4. Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not collect or use:

  • Personal information (name, email, phone number, or address)
  • Device identifiers or advertising IDs
  • Analytics or usage tracking data
  • Crash reports or diagnostics
  • Cookies or web tracking technologies
  • Photos, audio recordings, or media files
  • Contacts, calendar, or messages

The App does not require user accounts or registration.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use the information processed by the App to:

  • Compute and display pitch, roll, and compass heading for the inclinometer and tilt meter features
  • Display GPS speed, altitude, bearing, latitude, longitude, and satellite status
  • Trigger configurable tilt-threshold alarm sounds
  • Retrieve current temperature for the telemetry display
  • Process in-app subscription purchases for premium features
  • Store your local preferences (units, alarm thresholds, alarm sound, calibration offsets, subscription state) on your device

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. Data may be shared only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With third-party service providers listed above, solely for the purposes described in this policy
  • When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
  • To protect the rights, property, or safety of MI Division, our users, or the public

7. Data Security

All data transmitted between the App and third-party services is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Most data processed by the App remains on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

All preferences and state processed by the App (including calibration offsets, alarm thresholds, sound selection, unit preferences, and subscription state) are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers. You can delete all locally stored App data at any time by clearing the App's data in your device settings or by uninstalling the App. Location coordinates sent to Open-Meteo for temperature lookup are not persisted by the App and are retained by Open-Meteo according to their own data retention policies.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your personal data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

Since the App does not collect personal data on our servers, most data management can be performed directly on your device. To exercise any additional rights, please contact us at the email address below.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

The App and all information, content, and features are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MI Division disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MI Division shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (a) your use or inability to use the App; (b) any unauthorized access to or use of your data; (c) any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in the App's content or functionality, including but not limited to pitch and roll readings, compass headings, GPS coordinates, speed, altitude, bearing, satellite information, temperature data, or alarm behavior; or (d) any other matter relating to the App.

The App is intended as a supplementary tool only and must not be relied upon as a primary source for vehicle safety, off-road navigation, leveling, positioning, or any safety-critical decisions. Users are solely responsible for verifying all information provided by the App through independent means and for operating their vehicles safely.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
